MU Scalp & Hair Growth
A new brand on a brand-new domain, from no clicks to page one for a key local search.

A non-surgical hair growth centre in Kota Kinabalu, founded by Dr. Lu Ying Shean as the sister brand of ME Clinic. Bingo built the website and has run its search work since it went live in March 2026.

Who they are
A hair growth centre, not a salon
MU Scalp & Hair Growth Solutions helps people with hair thinning and scalp problems without surgery: scalp analysis, hair loss diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. It was founded by Dr. Lu Ying Shean as the sister brand of ME Clinic, which by its own account has more than 20 years in dermatology.
What was broken
A new name that Google had never heard of
MU Scalp opened as a new brand with no website. Its address, hairlosstreatment.com.my, had never been used, so Google knew nothing about it. In its first weeks the site was found a handful of times a day and clicked by almost no one.
The second problem was what to call it. People in Kota Kinabalu search for “klinik rambut” and “hair transplant”. MU is not a transplant surgery, and the site had to say so plainly without losing those searchers.
What we did
Built in two languages, then taught Google what it is
- 1
Bilingual from day one
English and Malay versions of the key pages: ten service pages, location and directions, and a WhatsApp button to book.
- 2
Guides for the questions people actually ask
Long guides comparing a hair growth centre with a salon or spa, and a hair transplant with non-surgical regrowth, plus a complete guide to scalp treatment in Kota Kinabalu.
- 3
Said what it is, and what it is not
After meeting Dr. Lu in May, the wording changed to “centre” across more than 30 files on the site. The transplant guide says at the top that MU does not do transplants and explains the non-surgical option.
- 4
A Google Maps profile kept alive
Reviews answered, posts in English with Malay and Chinese scheduled, and ten searches tracked, three of them scanned across 81 points around the city.
- 5
A start in Chinese
When a Chinese search term showed up in Google’s data in late May, a Chinese homepage and scalp-analysis page followed within about a week.
- 6
Reported regularly, including the flat month
Each month’s report says what moved and what did not. August said plainly that growth had paused while new work waited on the client.

Full detail
- Google clicks went from none in April 2026 to 30 in September 2026, the site’s best month so far. Appearances in Google results rose from 223 to 1,139 over the same months. Since June, monthly clicks have held between 22 and 30.
- Average Google position 5.0 for “scalp treatment kota kinabalu”, 7.1 for “hair treatment kota kinabalu” and 7.5 for “hair transplant kota kinabalu” (8 Jul – 5 Oct 2026). The last is a search the site answers by explaining the non-surgical option.
- On Google Maps, the centre’s average rank for “scalp treatment” across 81 points around Kota Kinabalu moved from 15.4 in early June to 6.7 in early August 2026. The other two scanned searches moved from 12.1 to 8.3 and from 9.0 to 8.1.
- 116 clicks from Google since launch, 111 of them from Malaysia.
- One honest limit: these are small numbers in a small market, and enquiries are not counted yet. WhatsApp messages go straight to the centre, and a front-desk log of where each person came from is still to be set up.

Why it matters to the next client
A new brand on a new domain starts at zero, and the first months are slow. What helps is a plain answer to the question searchers are really asking — here, “is there something short of a transplant?” — in English and Malay, and a Google Maps profile that stays active. After that the limit is the front desk: count where each person came from, and the next decision gets clearer.
