Invest Sabah
The state investment agency’s website, from approval to live in 27 days.

Invest Sabah Berhad is the Sabah state government’s investment promotion agency. Bingo built an earlier version of its website; in September 2026 we rebuilt it from the ground up, and it went live on 30 September.

Who they are
The state’s front door for investors
Invest Sabah Berhad is the Sabah state government’s investment promotion agency. Its website is read by foreign investors, embassies, chambers of commerce and companies weighing a move to Sabah — often from overseas, and often on a phone.
For that reader the website is the first meeting. It has to answer “why Sabah, for my industry, and how do I start?” without a phone call.
What was broken
A dated site, and a new design that was not yet a website
Bingo built an earlier version of investsabah.gov.my. It later passed through several hands and reached its fifth version on WordPress. It no longer matched how investors read: long, statistics-heavy pages instead of a clear investment story.
Invest Sabah’s own team had already drafted a full replacement in a design tool: 19 pages, about 8,000 words, a finished look. It was good work, and it gave the rebuild a head start. But a design file is not yet a website — the working parts still had to be built: phone layouts, a form that sends, search and the maps.
What we did
Kept their words and their look, built everything underneath
- 1
Built Invest Sabah’s own design, not ours
Their writing and their look were good, so we kept both and built them into a working site page by page — phone first, then widened for desktop.
- 2
Built what the draft could not do
An enquiry form with spam protection that stores nothing on the website, site-wide search, and three interactive maps: Sabah’s eight ports, its industrial parks, and its tourism areas.
- 3
Audited in batches before it shipped
Each batch of pages was audited for phone layout, readable contrast and speed. A full accessibility audit followed; its main fixes were made and re-checked on the live site before launch.
- 4
Moved the website to Cloudflare, kept the .gov.my address
The new site runs on Cloudflare as a static site, with no database and no admin login to attack.
- 5
Switched over without breaking old links
The old site’s main addresses forward to working new pages, so most links in emails, brochures and Google results keep working.
- 6
Ready on the date in the proposal
The proposal of 24 August set 30 September as the date the finished site would be ready to publish. The domain switch was agreed with Invest Sabah’s team and the site went live that evening.

Full detail
- investsabah.gov.my went live on the new build on 30 September 2026 — the ready-to-publish date set in the proposal five weeks earlier.
- All 24 pages are built phone-first; the maps, search and enquiry form are built to work on a phone as well as a desktop.
- The 42 old addresses we checked on launch day all return a working page.
- In its first 13 days live (30 September – 12 October 2026) the site took 178 clicks from Google across 3,523 appearances. Daily clicks rose from 5 on 1 October to 34 on 12 October.
- Most of those clicks came from Malaysia (152), then Singapore (13), with others from the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Australia and Brunei. Google holds no data for this address before launch day, so there is no before-and-after to show yet.

Why it matters to the next client
A client’s own draft is an asset, not a problem to replace. Keeping Invest Sabah’s design and words saved weeks and respected work its staff had already done. What they needed from us was the engineering underneath it — and a launch date we would actually hit.
Does your organisation’s website still tell yesterday’s story?
If you have the words and a direction, we build the site underneath and launch on the date we agree.
